Improved quality of life

Africa has 60% of the world`s arable land with Southern Africa sitting on over 20 million hectares of land with good soils, climate and access to water. A significant chunk of this land is being utilized by smallholder farmers whose farming activity is mostly subsistence and as a result, the full potential of this resource in not realized as there is hardly any commercial activity. This has resulted in Africa being a net importer as opposed to being a net exporter and given that the rural population is mostly reliant on subsistence farming, these smallholder farmers and the communities they live in remain very poor.

ZA2 Agri seeks to stimulate a major increase in agricultural production in Southern Africa and improve the productivity and incomes of smallholder farmers which is vital to the ending poverty and hunger while promoting health and well being. Apart from extending our precision farming technology to smallholder farmers, we also facilitate for access to quality inputs (seed, fertilizers, chemicals etc) and knowledge transfer on modern agronomic practices through the ZA2 FDP (Farmer Development Program) where we train our farmers on best practices that are globally accepted. This has also seen an increase in productivity and therefore income for smallholder farmers ultimately improving quality of life through enhanced purchasing capacity.
